The Cozy Theatre in Wadena is a beautiful art deco gem. The Cozy is one key element that makes this Festival a success.

Tickets will be on sale at the Cozy Theatre Box office, the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center, & Harvest Thyme Bistro in Wadena beginning on August 30.

Buy a Festival Pass (six movies for $30) at Harvest Thyme Bistro or the NY Mills Cultural Center and receive a coupon good for two-for-one meal at Harvest Thyme Bistro-BOGO. Your first entree is regular price and the second (equal or lesser cost) is free! Harvest Thyme will be open Friday and Saturday after the final shows of the night for drinks and dessert.

Admission $7.00 per film. A festival pass (6 movies) is $30-you save $12.

Persons 65 or over are admitted for $6 per film. Youth 12 and under admission is $5.

The 2012 Festival has three parts:

1. The best in current cinema

During the week of September 14-20 six films-all in current theatrical release-will be screened at the Cozy Theatre.

2. Short films by Minnesota filmmakers

There is also a Minnesota Short Film event as part of the Festival.  Submissions are sought for films made in Minnesota by Minnesota residents.  Films must be submitted in DVD format and should have a runtime between one and ten minutes.  Please include a brief synopsis, summary, or description of the work submitted. All films must include stamped, self-addressed return envelopes if the filmmaker wishes to have her or his films returned after the selection process is completed.  Short films should be submitted to Whiskey Creek Film Festival, c/o Cozy Theatre, 223 Jefferson Street South, Wadena, MN 56482. 

Film submissions may be in any genre, including live action and animated.  For further information, write whiskeycreekfilmfestival@gmail.com. Deadline for submissions (date of receipt) is September 10, 2012.

Short films by Minnesota filmmakers will be shown at 5:00pm on Saturday, September 15. Admission to this special screening is free.

3. Special free film for families

Magic of Belle IsleThis year's free family movie is The Magic of Belle Isle, and it will be screened on Friday at 5:00pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm.
