About the 2015 Festival

The Whiskey Creek Film Festival is produced by CozyLogothe Whiskey Creek Film Festival Committee. The 2015 Festival has three parts – six award-winning films in current theatrical release not usually screened in rural Minnesota, a special film made in and about Minnesota (free screening on Saturday and Sunday) and a special family film (also free screening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

1. The best in current cinema

During the week of September 11-17 six films-all in current theatrical release-will be screened at the Cozy Theatre.

  • Phoenix – a spellbinding mystery of identity, illusion, and deception in post-World War II Germany

  • Mr. Holmes – it is 1947 and an aging Sherlock Holmes confronts an ultimate adversary

  • I’ll See You in My Dreams – Blythe Danner leads this drama of friendship, love, and family relationships

  • Infinitely Polar Bear – a Toronto Film Festival favorite featuring Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana

  • Me and Earl and the Dying Girl – winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Festival

  • Love and Mercy – homage to the Beach Boys in this tribute to Brian Wilson

2. Films from Minnesota – free screenings on Saturday and Sunday

This year the Festival features Dinkytown Uprising, a documentary 45 years in the making by filmmaker Al Milgrom.  Dinkytown will screen at 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

3. Special free film for families

The Young and Prodigious T. S. Spivet from the Director of Amelie

To be screened on Friday at 4:30  pm and at 1:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
